Ramiz Raja aspires to make the PSL as popular as the IPL.

KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has disclosed that the board is aiming to grow the Pakistan Super League (PSL) into a tournament on a par with the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), as well as change a faltering national women’s squad into a winning outfit.

Ramiz Raja has been outspoken about his ambitions for Pakistan cricket since gaining the PCB chairpersonship.

On Monday, when Pakistan’s squad fell to an Australian onslaught at the National Stadium, the former Pakistan captain laid out yet another ambitious set of goals.

Ramiz talked boldly at the National Stadium about hosting top-tier teams like Australia and England in triangular tournaments, growing the PSL into a league big enough to challenge the IPL, and resurrecting a floundering national women’s squad.

There are plans to bring world-class pitches, foreign coaches, and the best equipment to Pakistan to make the game better.
