Tarin is in charge of resolving pharmaceutical sector difficulties.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (APP) – When Shaukat Tarin went to Islamabad on Tuesday, he met with the Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Association (PPMA) and its chairman, Qazi M. Manzoor, who was in charge of the group.

The chairman of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association thanked the finance minister for resolving the pharmaceutical manufacturers’ concerns and told him that there are still problems with the return of sales tax on active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Shaukat Tarin said that the government is completely dedicated to addressing the pharmaceutical industry’s concerns and providing the utmost assistance.

He listened intently to their concerns and expressed confidence in his ability to handle them. He asked the head of the FBR to think about different ways to deal with the pharmaceutical industry’s concerns about the sales tax on APIs with the help of industry representatives.

The FBR chairman also told the group about the Bureau’s efforts to solve the main problems the pharmaceutical industry is having, as well as how the Bureau is going to deal with issues with the return of sales tax on APIs.

The PPMA delegation thanked the finance minister for trying to solve the industry’s problems.
