Musk breaks his Twitter silence and publishes a photo with the pope.

(Reuters) – Elon Musk broke his nine-day silence on Twitter (NYSE:TWTR), the social media network he wants to buy for $44 billion, by posting a picture of himself with Pope Francis on Thursday.

The richest person in the world posted a photo of himself standing next to the pope with the words, “Honored to meet @pontifex yesterday.”

Musk’s four teenage sons are also visible, but his 18-year-old transgender daughter, who attempted to alter her name and sever connections with him on June 20, is not. Musk has eight children in total.

The objective and venue of Musk’s meeting with the pope were unclear at first.

Musk stated last month that there were “still a few unsolved issues” regarding the acquisition of Twitter, including the number of spammers on the site and the consolidation of the deal’s debt.
