Electricity tends to cost 4.75 per unit for consumers
Islamabad: fuel adjustment is likely to increase electricity prices by Rs 5.75 per unit.
The trial will be held today at the request to increase electricity prices in terms of fuel adjustment. The central power purchase agency has asked Nepra to increase electricity prices.
The petition stated that in October, electricity was produced from diesel at Rs 25.22 per unit and from fuel oil at Rs 22.21 per unit. Electricity production from water is 23.26% and from coal 16.69%.
According to request, 10.88 percent of electricity is produced from furnace oil and 0.51 percent of Diesel. Last month, 9.67 percent of electricity was produced from gas and 23.96 percent of LNG.
If the application is approved, it will impose an additional burden of Rs 60 billion in consumer power.
