Farrukh Habib, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, stated in a Twitter post that the FBR’s record tax collection of Rs 2920 billion in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, an increase of 32%, represents the strongest economic activity.

This is $287 billion higher than the tax objective of 2633 billion, compared to 2204 billion in the same period last year, he added.

Farrukh Habib stated that Rs 600 billion in taxes had been collected in the month of December alone in statement on the social networking site Twitter.
