Government decides to increase electricity rates by Rs7.91 per unit in three months

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani populace is in for another rude awakening, as the government of Pakistan has decided to raise the power tariff once more.

Three months from now, the per-unit cost of electricity would increase by Rs 7.91, according to reliable sources. As of July 1, the electricity rate would increase by Rs 3.50 per unit.

The price would increase by Rs 3.50 per unit in August and 91 paisa per unit in September, beginning on 1 August. The basic electricity rate will be 24.82 rupees per unit.

According to NEPRA sources, the price increase will not be applied for those consuming less than 200 units.
