Usman Qadir and Ben Cutting will be absent from the HBL PSL 7 playoffs.

Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by a super over in their final group-stage match of the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Following the match, reports indicated that the COVID-19 had struck again, with three Zalmi camp members testing positive.

The three people include players and a member of the coaching staff; all-rounder Ben Cutting and leg-spinner Usman Qadir are among those who have tested positive.

One of the best South African batters, Hashim Amla, has been diagnosed with the disease. He is also a mentor for Zalmi’s club.

Under PCB standards, members who test positive for a prohibited drug are required to withdraw for seven days.

Due to protocol violations, both players will be ineligible for the playoffs, but will be available if Peshawar Zalmi makes it to the HBL PSL 2022 final.
