A US financial regulator is seeking input from the banking industry on how decentralised finance (DeFi) may affect the bureau’s efforts to combat financial crime.
The digital asset ecosystem and virtual currencies are “key priority areas” for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), according to the agency’s acting director, Himamauli Das. FinCEN stated that it is “looking carefully” at DeFi.
