Even though 2022 is almost over, the hype about NFT hasn’t died down at all. NFTs like cat memes, pixelated apes, popular NFT collections like the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and many others, have continued to draw investors and collectors.
We made a list of the most expensive NFTs bought in 2022 and how much each person paid for the unique piece of art.
10. Cyberpunk #3100
CryptoPunk #3100, which sold for $7.6 million, is the new NFT on the list. This is a rare NFT because only 450 other punks have headbands.
9. Cyberpunk #5577
Robert Leshner, who started the compound, paid $7.7 million for this coin with a cowboy hat on it. Leshner sent out a “Yeehaw” tweet to tell people about this purchase.
8. Cyberpunk #41566
It looks like NFT collectors already have a soft spot for the CryptoPunks. When the collector with the fake name Punk4156 decided to sell his collection, this headband punk sold for $10.26 million.
7. TPunk #3442
Tron co-founder Justin Sun paid $10.5 million for this one-of-a-kind NFT that looks like a joker. This is an unusual collection because Tpunks don’t usually sell NFTs like this.
6. Alien Cryptopunk #7523
Alien CryptoPunk #7523 has moved up to the sixth spot because there aren’t many of them on the market. This Covid Alien was sold to Shalom Mackenzie, an owner of DraftKings, for $11.75 million (NASDAQ:DKNG).

5. CryptoPunk #5822
Out of the 10,000 punks that are available, CryptoPunk #5822 is one of only nine known alien editions, which are very rare. Deepak Thapliyal, who is the CEO of Chain, paid $23.7 million for the NFT.
4. HUMAN ONE
At a Christie’s auction, this NFT sold for $28.9 million. Beeple built a smart contract into Human One. This lets Beeple keep remote control over the content that is being shown.
3. Clock
The Time NFT, which sold for $52.7 million, is part of a larger NFT collection called Censored, which has over 29,000 tokenized messages from buyers of the project. The money made from this series went to groups that work for freedom.
2. The First Five Thousand Days
Mike “Beeple’s” digital art sold for $69.3 million, which caused all kinds of trouble. “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” is the title of the NFT, which is a collage of 5,000 pictures made one a day for more than thirteen years.

“The Merge” is the one that gets to the top. This was made by the well-known digital artist Pak, and 28,983 people who bought a total of 312,000 shares—each of which is an NFT—sold it for about $92 million.
It will be interesting to see who breaks the chart to buy the most expensive digital assets in the top 10 spots. It would be interesting to find out who supports NFTs for their benefits to the community and the public good.
