The Russian central bank will look into whether banks’ plans to charge fees for FX accounts are legal.

(Reuters) – On Friday, Russia’s central bank said it would look into the legality of some banks’ plans to charge fees for foreign currency accounts. It also warned banks not to make things worse for their current customers.

The central bank said that banks can’t charge fees for foreign currency accounts that have already been opened.
