The Prime Minister reiterates his commitment to speed the construction of CPEC projects.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his Government’s commitment to accelerating the construction of high-quality CPEC projects and transforming them into a symbol of China-Pakistan friendship and cooperation.

He was speaking with Ms. Pang Chunxue, China’s Charge d’ Affaires, who paid him a courtesy visit in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister emphasised the critical significance of further Chinese investment in manufacturing, agriculture, and information technology. He lauded CPEC’s steady growth as the flagship project of President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative, as well as its critical role in Pakistan’s economic development and prosperity.

While expressing his heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to the Chinese leadership, the Prime Minister remembered his several travels to China, during which he had the pleasure and honour of meeting President Xi, who has taken a personal interest in building ties with Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s policy and a role in regional peace and stability, recalling his extensive engagement with China as Punjab’s Chief Minister. He emphasised that Pakistanis have a special place in their hearts for China and that China is Pakistan’s greatest ally and closest partner.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to developing the two nations’ win-win economic cooperation relationship.

The Charge d’Affaires expressed the Chinese government and leadership’s heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the Prime Minister’s assumption of office.

She stressed that the Prime Minister was considered in her nation as a strong and devoted ally of China who commanded enormous respect and affection.

She also commended the Prime Minister’s efforts to promote China-Pakistan economic cooperation during his tenure as Punjab province’s Chief Minister.
