ISLAMABAD: In response to Prime Minister Imran Khan recent statements against the opposition, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice-President Sherry Rehman remarked on Monday that Imran Khan’s politics was centred on opposition parties rather than performance or people.
Prime Minister Imran Khan told his opponents yesterday, while fielding callers’ queries live on national television, that if he is thrown out of power, he will become much more harmful to them.
At present, I am preoccupied with official duties, but if I took to the streets, you would have nowhere to hide, “he had said.
Rehman inquired as to whom the prime minister intended to deliver a message by threat. She described his tone and phrasing as “container-politics.”
“When will the government ultimately disembark from the container?” People will question your performance after three years in power, but the emphasis of your politics is opposing parties, not performance or people,” she remarked in a tweet.
The PPP leader claimed that such threats were not made by democratic or political figures when sitting in the Prime Minister’s Office.

“You may not realise it yet, but you are the Prime Minister of the country and the Leader of the House, and you are not a tyrant,” she added, adding that he was unable to prove any offence against the opposition leaders even after imprisoning them.
According to Rehman, all of the claims and promises made by the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) administration, according to Rehman, were founded on falsehoods. She went on to say that their administration has proven to be the worst in Pakistan’s history.
“You’re telling people that things aren’t as awful as they appear, but people will no longer accept falsehoods.” You are being rejected by the general population. “You will be fired as a result of your incompetence, shortcomings, and mismanagement,” she stated.
