The government has taken steps to create a more favourable environment for women and girls: Mazari

Dr. Shireen Mazari, the Federal Minister for Human Rights, said on Tuesday that the government has taken many steps to make it easier for women and girls to work.

She said that the Ministry of Human Rights was mostly concerned with women’s rights when she spoke at the launch event for the National Gender Policy Framework.

The minister said that the government has implemented laws to defend the rights and welfare of women and children. She said that the government owed it to its people to preserve their rights.

Dr. Mazari said that the administration has taken steps to address women’s difficulties. The event took place in conjunction with the 2022 International Women’s Day.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives unveiled the National Gender Policy Framework-2022, aiming at creating a suitable atmosphere for women to flourish and empower them.

At the inauguration ceremony, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, who chaired the inauguration ceremony, credited women for Pakistan’s efficient COVID response efforts’ worldwide recognition and success to their critical role as front-line healthcare professionals.

The National Gender Policy Framework was put together by the current administration with help from experts in the field, foreign reviewers, and most importantly, our young people, he said.
