TARRIF HIKE FOR POWER DISTRIBUTION

ISLAMABAD: The Nati­onal Electric Power Regu­latory Authority (Nepra) on Thursday permitted the conveyance organizations — aside from K-Electric — an expansion of Rs1.62 per unit in its tax to formalize an assortment of about Rs165 billion by virtue of two quarterly modifications.

A representative for Nepra said the controllers’ new rate would get viable after a notice to be given by the national government yet “the current purchaser end rate will be kept up indeed”.

This will be supplanted by the normal duty change of Rs1.62 per unit for two fourth of 2019-20 (September to March). As such, the buyers have now been denied of a decrease in normal duty that was because of them on expiry of the extra charge in September.
