slice of moon for sale

LONDON: One of the world’s biggest lunar shooting stars goes on private deal at Christie’s on Thursday, esteemed at 2,000,000 pounds ($2.49 million).

The moon rock, weighing over 13kg, was presumably struck off the outside of the moon by an impact with a space rock or comet and afterward showered down on the Sahara desert.

Known as NWA 12691, it is believed to be the fifth biggest part of the moon at any point found on earth. There is only 650kg of moon rock known to be on earth.
