Shahbaz Sharif again wrote a letter to the Speaker

Ahead of the joint sitting of Parliament, PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition Mian Shahbaz Sharif wrote a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly.

“I wrote the letter on November 14 in response to your November 12 letter. I agreed with you that important national issues should be resolved by consensus,” he said in the letter.

Shahbaz Sharif’s letter says that I suggested you to legislate in the joint meeting by consensus, unfortunately there was no response from you, which is creating doubts.

“Contrary to my suggestion, you suddenly convened a joint sitting of Parliament last night. You gave us less than 16 hours notice for a joint sitting of Parliament,” he said in the letter.

The Leader of the Opposition in the letter said that today’s legislation includes amendments to the electoral laws. Never in the history of Pakistan has there been unilateral legislation in the electoral laws.

He said that the amendments to the electoral laws were always made through consultation and consensus. The sudden convening of the joint session was making his personality controversial. He had assured the united opposition to ensure parliamentary tradition.

In a letter to the Speaker, Shahbaz Sharif said that with the formation of his party on important national legislation, we lost our confidence in him.

In a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif demanded that you immediately correct your mistake before today’s joint sitting.
