ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, said on Tuesday that the federal government’s Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP) will grant Rs 10 billion to Sindh youth this year, allowing them to start their own enterprises.

This he declared during a press conference in Karachi. On this occasion, Haleem Adil Shaikh, the Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, was also present.

Usman Dar stated that Rs 150 billion had been set aside for the Kamyab Jawan Programme, of which Rs 32 billion had already been donated to the youth, resulting in the establishment of 22,000 new enterprises.

He said that the federal government would not leave the youth of Sindh alone and scholarships would be provided to them for vocational training.

“Under this programme, cheques will be distributed among deserving youth of Sindh in two phases,” he said.

On January 15, Usman Dar had said the government was aiming to disburse loans of Rs50 billion this year through the Kamyab Jawan Programme to encourage youth entrepreneurship and create jobs in the country.
