Renshaw joins Australia’s limited-overs side in Pakistan for Pak versus Aus.
SYDNEY: Matthew Renshaw has been called up to Australia’s team for the upcoming tour of Pakistan as batting back up after Mitch Marsh was ruled out of Tuesday’s first one-dayer due to a COVID-19 positive test.
Renshaw, who has played 11 tests for Australia but not a single one-day international, will join the team after a three-day break in Pakistan, Cricket Australia said.
Australia will play three one-day internationals and a Twenty20 international in Lahore over the next week after defeating Pakistan in the Test series on Friday.
Marsh hurt his left hip flexor during training but scans revealed a minor injury, and the CA expressed optimism that he would still be able to participate in the tour.
Inglis, the wicketkeeper-batsman, will be isolated for five days after the positive test. The CA said that all other members of the team tested negative.
For different reasons, Test skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, David Warner, and Glenn Maxwell will all miss the white-ball phase of the trip.
