Ramiz Raja believes a quadrangular series is necessary to resist league threats.

In Islamabad, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board thinks that a quadrangular series would be a good way to fight the growing threat of league cricket.

If Ramiz can get member countries to support the planned annual Quadrangular Series, he will be able to get the ICC Board of Governors meeting in Dubai on April 10.

The PCB chairman is optimistic that his proposal to establish a four-nation series would be taken seriously in both letter and spirit. He said that the sooner the ICC board of directors decides to stage such a series, the better for international cricket.

He said that, as a former cricketer, he wants to contribute to the game.

“The Indian and New Zealand boards are both led by former cricketers, and they understand the critical nature of national cricket in the face of expanding league cricket concerns,” Ramiz added.

He said that some cricketing countries don’t like the idea of quadrangular series because it would make the ICC’s big events less efficient.

“I don’t believe the complaint is valid, considering all franchise events and other cricketing events take place concurrently. I believe that the Quadrangular Series will increase interest and spice in nations where cricket has been threatened by League cricket. “

Meanwhile, the PCB’s chief executive is already in Dubai for the CEO’s conference, where the Future Tour Programme (FTP) is being discussed. The FTP is scheduled to begin next year.

“Instead of bilateral One-Day series, we suggest a triangular series each year, creating additional interest among cricket fans worldwide. Additionally, the PCB has opted not to play two-match Test series, as Najam Sethi did while he was chairman of the PCB. The success of the three-match series versus Australia demonstrates that three-match series, rather than two, is the way to go. “
