Proposal for the establishment of a ferry service between Oman and Gwadar

Wagah: It has been recommended to Pakistan’s Prime Minister that a ferry service between Oman and Gwadar be established.

Engineer Radha Al-Saleh, Head of Oman’s High Level Business Delegation and Chairman of Oman Chamber, told ‘Express’ on the occasion of his visit to the Wagah Border that during his journey to Pakistan, he visited Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

He stated that discussions with the Pakistani government and business sector were held in order to develop bilateral trade, and that Pakistanis were returning with excellent hospitality and lovely memories. Oman is one of the few nations in the world to have signed a free trade deal with the US. Yes, Pakistani businesses will gain from this, since Pakistani items will be able to be re-exported from Oman to the United States.

The delegation’s leader went on to say that getting to Saudi Arabia and other countries through Oman is relatively easy and takes less time, and that Oman is a gateway to the Gulf, Africa, and other regional markets for Pakistan, while Pakistan is a gateway to Central Asia, China, and other markets for Oman. He stated that the development of Gwadar was very important to Oman.

Ahsan Wagan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Oman, said that efforts are being made to boost bilateral commerce between the two nations.
