PM Imran Khan to make ‘major announcement’ today: FM

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan will make a “major announcement” in his Monday address to the country.

His media comment came immediately after Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, confirmed the Prime Minister’s speech this morning on his official Twitter account.

Fawad stated that the premier will instil confidence in the nation in Pakistan’s economy and the global issues the country faces in the aftermath of the Ukraine crisis.

At 6 p.m., FM Qureshi announced that the Prime Minister would address the nation.

Khan went to Moscow a day after Putin started a military campaign in Ukraine, declaring war on the country backed by the West.

Pervez Khattak: The government will shortly announce a cut in POL and energy prices.

Pervez Khattak, the Federal Minister for Defense, said on Sunday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon unveil a package of help for the people and lower the prices of petroleum and energy.

At a public meeting in his hometown of Nowshera’s Mumraiz neighbourhood, he stated, “The prime minister will address the nation shortly and announce a Rs 10 decrease in petroleum prices and a Rs5 reduction in power rates per unit, among other measures.”
