The Prime Minister visit to Russia will be a watershed moment in bilateral relations: Fawad Chaudhry

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday emphasised the importance of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s planned visit to Russia, describing it as historic and game-changing” for the two nations’ bilateral ties.

“By Allah’s grace, and now after China, Pakistan’s ties with Russia will strengthen even more,” he told reporters in Pind Dadan Khan.

He said that Russia had invited any Pakistani leader to Moscow for the first time in 23 years, demonstrating the premier’s gravitas and leadership abilities.

According to the minister, Russian President Vladimir Putin showed Prime Minister Imran Khan a level of respect and esteem that is seldom shown to any leader.

He noted that Imran Khan’s status ensured that his position on Islamophobia and regional and international problems was always recognised at the world level.

He said that the nation lacks a leader of Imran Khan’s magnitude, referring to all political opponents as dwarfs in comparison to the PM, including Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Safdar, and Shehbaz Sharif.

According to him, opposition leaders lack credibility both inside and outside the nation as a result of their corrupt actions, and no one is willing to listen to them.

He urged Maryam Safdar, a well-wisher of the nation, to restore the money plundered by her family. “We borrowed $1 billion from the IMF (International Monetary Fund), and the valuation of Maryam’s brother, Hassan Nawaz’s London flat is exactly the same. If she returns the money, it will significantly assist us in overcoming our obstacles.

The minister said that the opposition lacks the courage and political clout to initiate a vote of no-confidence against the prime minister. “Those who want to instil distrust in us lack the confidence of their own family.”

Chaudhry said that those who were unable to defeat the government in the Pakistani Senate, when they had a majority, are not in a position to do it in the National Assembly (NA). He challenged the opposition to move the motion of no-confidence tomorrow rather than on another day.

The minister expressed confidence that the opposition will not pose a challenge to the administrations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Punjab and the federal government.”At this point, no change will occur since nobody quits a powerful administration.”

In response to a question, he said, “[estranged] Jahangir Tareen would support the party and will not make any move that will hurt it.”
