Pakistan elects to bat first in the Rawalpindi Test after winning the toss.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first on the first day of the Rawalpindi Test, as the Green Shirts’ batting order prepares for one of the most challenging matches in recent history at home and in front of a home crowd against a powerful bowling attack.
For Pakistan, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique began the scoring.
This will be the fourth Test at the venue since Test cricket returned to Pakistan in December 2019. Pakistan’s 2020 match against Sri Lanka concluded in a tie.
