Pakistan wants to transform the structure of its economy through CPEC. Ahsan,

ISLAMABAD- Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, stated that the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative aims to overhaul the structure of the country’s economy.

On Thursday, he defined the corridor project as a strategic vision aimed at converting Pakistan into an industrial economy while speaking at a Pakistan Business Council event in Islamabad. This, he claims, will increase our exports.
He stated that the corridor project, in its initial phase, assisted Pakistan in addressing its energy and infrastructural limitations, as well as making its key assets, such as Thar coal, more productive. He recalled that during PML-N’s previous mandate, the CPEC received a $29.9 billion investment.

According to Ahsan Iqbal, political stability and policy continuity are essential for moving the country ahead on the path of progress.

He stated that, in addition to increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio from 9.5 percent to 18 percent, we must enhance local and international investment in the country to address economic challenges.
