Over the course of eight months, Pakistan earns $1688 million from selling IT services outside the country.
ISLAMABAD (APP) -Pakistan made more than $1,688.862 million in the first eight months of the financial year 2021-22 by providing different IT services in different countries, like the United States. Pakistan’s Bureau of Statistics (PBS) says this shows an increase of 29.90 percent when compared to the amount of money earned through services in the fiscal year 2020-21, which was US $1,300.100 million.
During the months of July and February (2021-22), the export of computer services grew by 32.06 percent. It went from US $1,024.830 million to US $1,353.372 million. Exports of software consulting services rose by 45.59 percent, from US $341.122 million to US $496.634 million. Exports of hardware consulting services also rose by 284.74 percent, from US $0.380 million to US $1.462 million. It also went up by 41.16 percent, from US $250.986 million to US $354.284 million, and exports of repair and maintenance services went up from $0.377 million to $0.776 million.
Also, exports of other computer services rose by 15.80 percent, going from US$ 431.965 million to US$ $500.216 million in the same time. It also rose by 29.48 percent, from US $2.680 million to US $3.470 million in information service exports during the time period under review. The exports of news agency services went up 61.40%, from US $1.412 million to US $2.279 million. The exports of other information services, on the other hand, went down 6.07%, from US $1.268 million to US $1.191 million.
According to data, the export of telecommunication services also went up by 21% during the year in question. These services went from US $272.590 million to $332.020 million, the data shows. Among the telecommunication services, the export of call centre services grew by 50.32 percent during the period. The export of other telecommunication services also grew by 7.37 percent, from US $183.078 million to US $196.567 million.
