Stocks in Japan are up at the end of the day; the Nikkei 225 is up 0.42 %.

On Tuesday night, after the market closed, stocks in Japan went up because of gains in the warehouse, mining, and machinery sectors.

By the end of the day in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 had gained 0.42%.

On the Nikkei 225, Konami Corp. (TYO:9766) performed the best, rising 5.65 %, or 450 points, to close at 8,410.00. Inpex Corp. (TYO:1605) rose 5.64 percent, or 83 points, to 1,555 in late trading, while Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (TYO:9107) rose 5.30 percent, or 45 points, to 8,940.

Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (TYO:2502) was the worst performer of the session. It fell 10.86%, or 509 points, to end the day at 4,177.00. Dentsu Inc. (TYO:4324) dropped 6.16 percent, or 290.00 points, to 4,415.00, while Unitika, Ltd. (TYO:3103) dropped 6.02 percent, or 160.00 points, to 250.00.

By 1837 to 1698, more stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange went up than went down, and 216 stocks stayed the same.

Shares of Konami Corp. (TYO:9766) rose 5.65%, or $450, to $8,410.00, the highest level in five years. Unitika, Ltd. (TYO:3103) shares fell by 6.02 percent, or 16.00, to a 52-week low of 250.00.

The Nikkei Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, fell 1.31 percent to 26.40.

The price of a barrel of crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.26 percent, or $0.29, to $111.53. oil contract dropped 0.16 percent, or $0.18, to $114.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract went up 0.60 percent, or $10.90, to $1,824.90 a troy ounce.

The EUR/JPY pair increased 0.36 percent to 135.21, while the USD/JPY pair increased 0.10 percent to 129.29.

At 103.98, the US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.21 percent.
