PAK vs. ENG 5th T20 Live Score Updates: Pakistan wins by 5 runs and leads the series 3-2

The fifth Twenty20 international between Pakistan and England took place on Wednesday. England won the toss and chose to field. Tonight in Lahore, Pakistan plays England in the fifth T20I. At 2-2 in the series, both teams will try to win. This is the last series that both teams will play before going to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022. Jos Buttler, England’s regular white-ball captain, is still out. England’s head coach, Matthew Mot, confirmed the news. “Jos is still a long way from being ready. We don’t want to take a chance on him at this point, so close to the World Cup, especially since he was hurt pretty badly. Mott was quoted as saying, “He’s itching to play, but we’ll just see how things go. Maybe in the last game or two, he might have a chance.”

The last time the two sides met in Karachi, it was a very close match. England scored 163, which was not enough to beat Pakistan, which had scored 166/4.

Live: Mark Wood again bowls out Babar Azam in Pakistan vs. England

In the last T20, Mark Wood bowled a fast, short ball at 153 km/h outside off that got Babar Azam to top-edge a cut shot to third man. On Wednesday night, he threw a ball at Babar’s head that was going 150kmph. Even though Babar was trying to pull, he almost instinctively turned his head to the side. This was more like Sourav Ganguly’s help-lap-along version, and it was no surprise that he holed out a deep square-leg.

Haider Ali had been moved down from No. 3 earlier in the series because of a fiery move by Wood that Ali had no idea about. He took his eyes off the ball and weakly swatted it behind square-leg for a dolly of catch. On Wednesday, Wood would throw another sharp bouncer at Ali. Ali tried to pull, but he was too late and out of position for that shot. The ball was hit straight up, and Wood ran forward to get it. If Haider makes it into the playing XI for the T20 World Cup, teams will use bouncers against him. They might also try it on Babar, since Bhuvneshwar surprised him in the Asia Cup, but if that doesn’t work, they might need Wood’s speed to get the job done.

He’s young and talented; he just needs more exposure and a lot of hard work.”
