On January 15, Airblue will restart flights to the United Arab Emirates.

KARACHI: Pakistan’s second-largest airline, Airblue, has restarted international flights to the United Arab Emirates.

Airblue having secured the necessary clearances from the Pakistani government, and as the UAE government approved, the airline revealed its flight schedule.

Airblue intends to travel to the majority of cities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It also intends to return trapped Pakistanis.

On January 15, 2022, Airblue’s maiden flight was scheduled to depart from Dubai International Airport towards Pakistan’s largest metropolis and commercial centre, Karachi.

“After a five-year hiatus, we will resume flights to Karachi.” According to Sohail Sheikh, Airblue’s national manager for the UAE,

Airblue will operate 56 weekly flights from three cities in the United Arab Emirates. It will fly 28 times per week from Dubai, 16 times per week from Sharjah, and 12 times per week from Abu Dhabi.

Airblue announced the resumption of domestic flights on June 12, 2021. Airblue now operates two flights per day between Islamabad and Karachi. Approximately 45% of domestic flight schedules are operational.
