Misbah-ul-Haq, who was the ex- Pakistan head coach and the captain has explained why he decided to elevate Mohammad Rizwan to the top of the batting line-up and pick him to begin the innings along with Babar Azam.
in an interview, Misbah explained the reason to put Rizwan on the highest list for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.
“Rizwan is able to use the speed up front but he’s also very excellent with the back foot and he cuts and pulls effectively. His ability to spot the ball to hit it early in the innings, rather than hitting it hard is why he’s an ideal choice to start your innings” Misbah told.
“He is good with his feet, he sweeps well and he has those cheeky shots which makes him more dangerous in the powerplay,” Misbah further explained.
Misbah She further discussed Rizwan’s fierce personality, saying, “He’s running between the wickets is unmatched and the most important thing is that he loves a challenge.”
Mohammad Rizwan had a fantastic 2021 following his promotion in the batsman’s order. Rizwan recorded 1326 run over 29 games, averaging 73.66 and hitting 134.89. Additionally Rizwan was awarded the male T20I Best Player.
Rizwan was not just successful at the international level and also helped lead Multan Sultans to their first-ever Pakistan Super League (PSL) championship in 2021.
Rizwan has enjoyed a stellar beginning to the PSL seven season winning all four matches. Multan winning four of his matches thus far.
