Miftah Ismail stressed how important it is to keep strategic sugar reserves.

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail told the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) that the current government is aware of the problems facing Pakistan’s sugar industry and wants to fix them as soon as possible.

On Friday, the finance minister was talking with PSMA Chairman Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf at a meeting in the Finance Ministry. The Secretaries of Finance, Commerce, NFS&R, and I & P, as well as other top executives, also went to the conference.

The finance minister stressed how important it was to keep strategic sugar stockpiles and control sugar prices in the country to keep prices from going up and give the people as much comfort as possible.

He said that the government is still committed to boosting economic activity and helping businesses help the country grow in the long run.

Zaka Ashraf praised the current government’s efforts to fight inflation and told the finance minister about the problems facing the sugar industry.
