Intel CEO: We’ll decide on a new chip plant by the end of the year, but it might not be in Italy.

Pat Gelsinger, the CEO of Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), told the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on Friday that Italy was not the only country being considered for a new chip plant and that a decision should be made by the end of the year.

In a press conference at the end of the year, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that she thought an investment by Intel in Italy would be very important and that she would set up a meeting with the company to talk about how to make it happen.
