India stocks went down at the end of the trading day; the Nifty 50 fell 0.43 percent.

Monday night, after the market closed, India stocks went down because the consumer durables, power, and fast-moving consumer goods sectors all went down.

At the end of the day on the NSE, the Nifty 50 was down 0.43 percent, while the BSE Sensex 30 was down 0.34 percent.

AXIS Bank Ltd. (NS:AXBK), which rose 2.95 percent or 22.30 points to trade at 778.00 at the end of the session, did the best on the Nifty 50. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) went up 1.94%, or 59.45 points, to end at 3,124.35, and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NS:HDFL) went up 1.22%, or 6.45 points, to 533.30 in late trading.

Tata Motors Ltd. (NS:TAMO), which fell 3.77% or 15.55 points to close at 396.60, did the worst of the day’s stocks. Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (NS:TACN) fell 2.84%, or 22.20 points, to end at 758.70, and Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (NS:HROM) fell 2.09%, or 54.95 points, to 2,570.00.

AXIS Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK), which went up 2.76% to 776.75, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS), which went up 1.84% to 3,121.20, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI), which went up 0.94% to 8,865.55, were the best performers on the BSE Sensex 30.

Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:ASPN), which fell 1.99% to $3,278.20 in late trading, Titan Company Ltd. (BO:TITN), which fell 1.86% to end at $2,679.60, and ITC Ltd. (BO:ITC), which fell 1.80% to $327.95 at the end of the day, were the worst performers.

On the India National Stock Exchange, 1215 stocks went down, 639 went up, and 64 stocks stayed the same. On the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2025 stocks went down while 1385 went up and 157 stocks stayed the same.

The India VIX, which measures how volatile Nifty 50 options are expected to be, went up by 4.31% to 19.62.

Gold futures for delivery in December went down by 1.33 percent, or $22.80, to $1,686.50 an ounce. Crude oil for delivery in November dropped 0.37%, or $0.34, to $92.30 per barrel, while the December Brent oil contract dropped 0.54%, or $0.53, to $97.39 per barrel.

The USD/INR fell by 0.61 percent to 82.31, and the EUR/INR fell by 1.05 percent to 79.83.

At 113.04, the US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.31 percent.
