Haris Rauf is determined to play his first Test match after experiencing white-ball success. He is now playing in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) with the Lahore Qalandars, led by fellow speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Both players are Pakistan’s top fast bowlers, and they both played important roles in the country’s most recent T20 World Cup run-in in 2021.

Haris Rauf has also represented the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL).

Haris Rauf remarked on his time in Australia: “Since I had previously appeared in the BBL prior, I was acquainted with the conditions and pitches,” The squad was pleased with the performances, which is always my goal. “

When questioned about his swing speed, Rauf said he prefers to focus on pace, length, and line rather than swinging the ball.

“Pace is important, and I’ve always bowled quickly since I started playing cricket.” This is something I’ve carried over, and I aim to bowl at the same pace in every match. “I try to concentrate more on line and length,” Haris explained.

Haris Rauf also discussed Shaheen Afridi, the new captain of the Lahore Qalandars.

He stated Because this would be a new learning curve for him [Shaheen Afridi], I anticipate him handling things well because he is incredibly mature and already represents Pakistan at the top level. He organised the training camp and interacted with the players before the start of the PSL, demonstrating that he is up for the challenge and knows the value of communication, which is a positive thing.

“I am optimistic that Shaheen will contribute to the Lahore Qalandars’ victory in the HBL PSL 7.” He continued.

The bowler indicated a desire to play red-ball cricket for Pakistan.

“Every player dreams of representing their nation in all three forms, but I want to make this a reality via my performances.” Haris added that he wants to play Test cricket. “I’ve put in some solid performances in four-day matches, and I’ll keep doing so until I’m chosen based on merit and performance,” he added.
