Lahore: The Punjab government has withdrawn the additional tax on property imposed in the budget.
According to details, the Punjab government has withdrawn the additional property tax imposed in the budget, the notification of which has been issued by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.
It may be recalled that the Punjab government had decided to increase the property tax by 65% in the provincial budget while the Excise and Taxation Department had also announced an additional 5% discount to the payers till December 31.
In this regard, DG Excise and Taxation said that those who pay till 31st December will get 10% discount, citizens should avail this discount.
It may be recalled that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce had recently said that accepting the demand of the Lahore Chamber to withdraw the exorbitant increase in property tax was a proof of the friendly attitude of the Punjab government.
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce further said that this decision would bring a lot of relief to the business community which is facing many economic challenges due to devaluation of rupee, increase in policy rate and inflation.
