For the upcoming West Indies series, PCB removes COVID-19 restrictions.
LAHORE: Following a successful trial in a local competition, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opted against implementing COVID-19 restrictions for future matches, which include the use of a bio-secure bubble.
According to the PCB official, the board would implement this regulation throughout the series against the West Indies. A request for the series to be played without COVID-19 rules is going to be sent to Cricket West Indies (CWI).
Players and coaching staff will be able to mingle, and cricket will continue to be played in its customary context. COVID-19 testing, on the other hand, will only be done if a player or a member of the staff shows signs.
If the person tests positive for COVID, he or she will be quarantined for five days. Pakistan’s international series and local events would follow the same approach.
In the just-ended Pakistan one-day cup, the PCB did not establish a biosecure bubble. Personal advice was given to the players to take cautious steps. There was not a single instance of COVID documented throughout the tournament’s 33 matches.
It was a great 38 days for the Australian and Pakistani teams. The chairman of the PCB thanked them.
“The three-test series was tough and enthralling until the last hour of the 15th day when a victor was declared, while white-ball cricket verified both teams’ high billing and quality. The camaraderie and respect shown by the two teams throughout high-stakes cricket were excellent and served as tremendous advertising for our sport, “Raja said in a statement.
