Ripple Lab no longer owns more than 50% of all XRP tokens in circulation. This is the first time in the company’s history that this has happened.
Some people have criticised Ripple in the past because the company owns a large number of XRP tokens. They say that this gives the company centralised control over its XRP Ledger (XRPL).
