Florida is thinking about making a U-turn on a plan to take away Disney theme parks’ right to govern themselves.
People who know about the plan told the Financial Times on Friday that Florida lawmakers want to change a plan that would take away Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) Co.’s right to run a private government around its theme parks.
In April, the lawmakers passed a bill that ended Disney’s status as a self-governing entity. This was likely because Disney was against a new state law that limited how LGBTQ issues could be taught in schools.
