Grimes said that despite being the world’s wealthiest person, her on-again, off-again lover, Elon Musk, lives a modest existence.
The artist has made news for her Vanity Fair cover interview, in which she revealed the birth of her and Musk’s daughter, Y.
Grimes responded to criticism of her partner’s spending habits by detailing the billionaire’s lifestyle, adding, “People are like, ‘He’s hoarding money!’ No, he is devoting his whole budget to [research and development].”
“Bro does not live like a billionaire… Bro has been known to live at times below the poverty line,” she said.
“To the point where I was thinking, ‘Can we not live in a $40,000 home that is quite insecure?'” “Our neighbours watch us, there is no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight consecutive days?” the magazine said.
Grimes also addressed criticism directed at her romantic relationship with Musk. She said, “I mean, when people refer to me as a class traitor, it is not an exaggeration.”
“I came from the extreme left and turned to become a capitalist Democrat. “There are a lot of folks who are understandably outraged,” she said.
