December inflation in Indonesia increased to 5.51% year over year.

Jakarta According to official data released on Monday, Indonesia’s inflation increased slightly in December and continued to hover above the central bank’s target range for a seventh consecutive month.

In December, the headline annual inflation rate increased to 5.51% from 5.42% in November and the 5.39% that economists surveyed by Reuters had predicted. The 2% to 4% inflation target set by Bank Indonesia

The annual core inflation rate increased slightly to 3.36% from 3.30% a month earlier, although the Reuters poll had predicted a rate of 3.39%. The annual core inflation rate includes government-controlled prices and volatile food prices.
