Arooj Aftab made a name for herself by being nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys for the first time. In addition to her previous accomplishments, the singer will be the first Pakistani musician to perform at Coachella.
The statement comes on the heels of her revelation that she will make her debut appearance on Coke Studio this season.
The first day of the event will feature performances by Harry Styles, Lil Baby, Daniel Caesar, Phoebe Bridgers, Big Sean, Baby Keem, Carly Rae Jepsen, The Martinez Brothers, and Bishop Briggs.
On the second day, Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Stromae, and many other musicians will perform. Among them is Palestinian DJ Sama ‘ Abdulhadi, who will play on April 23.
On the third day, Ye will emcee the show, which will include Doja Cat, Joji, Karol G, Ari Lennox, Hayden James, and other musicians. The third wave of musicians will take the stage on April 24th for another weekend.
It’s amazing to have Pakistan represented and to have a Pakistani musician perform at one of the world’s most prestigious music festivals.
Aftab received support from singers Faisal Kapadia and Meesha Shafi, Zara Peerzada and Tooba Siddiqui, and Mahira Khan.
Coachella has returned after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19. And we’re looking forward to seeing one of our own talents play.
