PSL 2022: NCOC permits 50% of supporters and minors under the age of 12 to attend Lahore matches.

ISLAMABAD: According to a statement, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) increased spectator capacity from 25% to 50% on Monday and allowed children under the age of 12 to enter the stadium for Pakistan Super League (PSL) Lahore leg matches.

During the Karachi leg, the NCOC allowed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to fill the stadium to 25% capacity and prohibited children under the age of 12 from entering. The PCB was chastised for excluding youngsters from watching cricket at the venue.

According to the NCOC announcement, 50% of completely vaccinated spectators will be permitted till February 15, and 100% of fully vaccinated supporters will be permitted beginning February 16.

The decision was amended during the forum’s meeting in Islamabad, which was presided over by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.

In view of escalating coronavirus infections, the NCOC limited audience capacity to 25% just days before the commencement of the PSL’s seventh season. However, as the positive rate falls, the forum’s judgement has been amended.

The Lahore leg matches, which will be played entirely under the lights at Gaddafi Stadium, will begin on February 10 with the unbeaten Multan Sultans taking on Peshawar Zalmi.

For inbound travellers, the RAT test has been eliminated.

The NCOC has also decided to eliminate the rapid antigen test (RAT) for arriving travellers at all airports around the nation, effective February 8, according to a statement.

According to the statement, the RAT will continue to be used for deportees from other nations and non-vaccinated people arriving at land border ports.
