CHINA CALLS FOR AFGHAN CEASE FIRE
MOSCOW: The United States was joined by Russia, China and Pakistan on Thursday in approaching Afghanistan’s fighting sides to arrive at a prompt truce, at talks that showed Washington’s assurance to win backing from local forces for its arrangements.
Only a month and a half before a cutoff time for the United States to pull out troops that have been in Afghanistan for almost 20 years, Washington sent a senior authority interestingly to take part in territorial harmony talks met by Russia.
The Moscow talks were intended to revive dealings between the Afghan government and the Taliban in Qatar’s capital Doha, slowed down over government allegations that the extremists have done too little to even think about ending brutality.
