TikTok and Zindagi Trust team up to promote online safety.

ISLAMABAD: TikTok, Pakistan’s most popular short-form video platform, has teamed up with the Zindagi Trust to spread the word about internet safety.

This collaboration was announced on Safer Internet Day, which takes place every year on February 8.

Through this arrangement, a series of seminars will be held for students, parents, and instructors at Zindagi Trust-adopted government schools.

Thousands of young internet users around the country will be able to learn about internet best practises and how to develop into responsible digital citizens and nurture a secure online community. The workshops will cover a variety of subjects, including the following:

  • Parents and students may use TikTok’s safety measures.
  • On social media, harmful behaviours are rampant.
  • Methods for disseminating pertinent information.
  • Recognize and avoid false information and misinformation.
  • Mechanisms for reporting illegal and harmful material.

The Zindagi Trust will also utilise its official TikTok account to provide educational movies regarding internet safety. Training sessions will also be given to show students how to make safe and acceptable content that meets TikTok’s Community Guidelines and can be shared with a wider audience on the site.

Farah Tukan, TikTok’s Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP), said: “It is a pleasure for us to collaborate with Zindagi Trust—a prestigious non-governmental organisation that promotes mass wellbeing and empowerment while protecting Pakistan’s ever-growing community of internet users.”

The Zindagi Trust has worked with TikTok to help spread its Internet Safety programmes across the country. We want to say thank you.

She said that the video-sharing site is completely committed to protecting the safety of Pakistan’s digital community and that it will keep making rules and regulations that will stop people from trying to spread bad information on the site.

TikTok is constantly strengthening its safety mechanisms in order to safeguard our users from material that violates our Community Guidelines. This relationship is another positive step toward a digitally secure Pakistan, and we are pleased to be a part of it. “

On the other hand, Zindagi Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Hameedah Sayani, stated: “We are happy to have this chance to communicate with the audience through TikTok, one of the most popular digital platforms in Pakistan.”

She said that TikTok’s popularity and ease of use in Pakistan would help her organisation spread the word about safe internet use.

As part of this collaboration, Zindagi Trust will come up with unique messages and communications that will keep the public from seeing inappropriate information.

“We will keep working to improve the quality of life in our communities and the country’s long-term development and socioeconomic progress,” we say.
