As Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique hit hundreds in Pakistan’s first home Test against Australia, players and fans have begun to praise the opening pair for their performance.
Former player Shoaib Akhtar hailed Imam’s double century and Shafique’s first Test century in Rawalpindi.
On the fifth day, Imam made his second century of the Test, becoming the eighth Pakistani batsman to achieve a century in both innings.

For the first time in almost five decades, Imam and Shafique broke the record by establishing a partnership of a hundred runs in both innings.
