The railway deficit was recorded at Rs 333 billion. The Auditor General’s report opens the pool.
Lahore: The Auditor General of Pakistan has opened a pool of claims for improvement in the railways.
Report: The total operational deficit on Indian trains for the nine years from 2011 to 2020 is Rs. 333.81 billion. This figure comes from the Ministry of Railways’ forensic audit report.
According to the report, out of the subsidy of Rs. 361.55 billion received from the government of Pakistan, Rs. 333.81 billion was used to reduce the overall deficit. It will continue to be a burden on the railway operations system for the railway subsidiaries.
The Kashmir Railway Private Limited Company was formed by the Ministry of Railways for the Islamabad Murree Muzaffarabad Rail Link on June 3, 2014. It has been five and a half years since this company was formed, but it is still going strong.
