Unregistered sugar sellers should be brought into the tax system by the Federal Bureau of Revenue, the President tells them to do,
ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi has asked the Federal Board of Revenue to bring unregistered sugar sellers under the tax net.
He issued these directives in reverse of a Federal Tax Ombudsman verdict.
The President said that even though these unregistered sugar buyers make a lot of money and their information is available to the FBR, they mostly stay out of the tax net and don’t pay their fair share of taxes.
The President said that the FBR’s field units were very careless and incompetent when they did their jobs. This was bad administration, he said.
He said that the FBR should pursue unregistered sugar sellers aggressively in order to bring them into the tax net.
