The government says that exporters will get cheaper electricity. 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government announced on Thursday that it will provide exporters with subsidised electricity at a cost of Rs 19.99 per unit.

This is what Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said to the media on Thursday in Islamabad after meeting with business leaders. The Minister said that all distribution companies will sell electricity to the exporter community at these prices, and the Finance Ministry will pay the difference between the original prices and the subsidised prices.

The Minister said that our government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is doing its best to help farmers and business owners get the country’s economy back on track.

He told the business community that increasing Pakistan’s exports would help the country. He said that Pakistan’s problems with its balance of payments can only be fixed by making the export sector better.

The minister said, “We are also working to get the rupee back to its original value, which is less than Rs200 per dollar.”
