The Ehsaas project boosts women stipends to Rs13, 000.
PESHAWAR: Under the auspices of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government’s poverty alleviation and social security efforts, the Ehsaas programme boosted the six-month stipend for qualified women from Rs 12, 000 to Rs 13, 000.
Dr Sania Nishtar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation, said in a tweet that the administration has made steps to emancipate disadvantaged women in the community.
She emphasised to the ladies the need of obtaining a transaction receipt from the bank agent in addition to collecting cash. Dr Sania also instructed district governments to maintain transaction transparency and cautioned against individuals who deceive women, particularly uneducated rural women.
People in all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities have been given pamphlets and small banners with warning messages by the Prime Minister’s aide.
On February 15, Dr Sania Nishtar cautioned agents that they will face severe consequences for illegally deducting money from Ehsaas Kafaalat recipients.
SAPM posted a video message on her Twitter account. She said that anyone found to have been involved in the illegal deduction will be punished very harshly.
She had told the recipients not to leave the counter until they had checked the whole amount.
