Rising oil prices, the sale of smuggled coking oil increased in Karachi

According to media reports, this is cooking oil which is being smuggled illegally through Iranian border and Pakistan sea route and then it is transported by road to other cities of Pakistan especially Karachi.

At present there is a great demand for this oil because if the prices of coking oil have gone up in Pakistan then many people will benefit.

Local manufacturers have also warned the government about this coking oil, saying that it does not meet the specified standards and its use could be dangerous for the people.

However, no significant response has been received from the government in this regard till the publication of this report.

It is not a new thing for Asian goods to come to Pakistan from the Iranian border, but after the devaluation of the rupee this year, the price of oil has increased considerably, due to which the demand for smuggled oil has increased.

One of the reasons for its demand is that it is available at a much lower price than the price of oil available in the market.

Nasir Khan, vice-president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said that the current price in Karachi is Rs. 300 while shops are selling at Rs. 350 to 450 per liter.

But smuggled oil is getting Rs 191 per liter due to which there is a lot of demand in the market.
