Riccardo Tisci has been replaced at Burberry by designer Daniel Lee.
London: Daniel Lee has been named the new chief creative officer of Burberry Group. He will replace Riccardo Tisci, who is leaving the company after putting on his last runway show for the British luxury brand on Monday.
Burberry said on Wednesday that Lee was the creative director at Bottega Veneta in Italy from 2018 to 2021. Before that, he worked at Celine, Maison Margiela, Balenciaga, and Donna Karan.
Jonathan Akeroyd became Burberry’s new CEO earlier this year, which led to the end of Tisci’s nearly five-year job there.
Tisci was the one who came up with the idea for former CEO Marco Gobbetti’s plan to boost the 166-year-old brand’s position in the luxury market.

His designs, many of which had a new “TB” monogram for Thomas Burberry, brought in a younger and more diverse group of customers.
Lee was born in Yorkshire, which is where Burberry makes its famous trench coats. He said it was an honour to join the fashion house and continue Tisci’s work.
